Importance of training your dog !

Training is an essential part of dog care…while training instills some discipline in the doggy’s life…the benefits of training go beyond the obvious. Training helps the dog feel secure , it strengthens the bond between parent and dog and in many instances it can keep the dog safe…

Here are some of the benefits of training….

  1. Training uses many verbal and physical cues to get the message across. This helps them learn cues through means which are instinctive to them. The use of body language in training is closer to the world they come from genetically
  2. It keeps them safe from dangers that they are not aware of. Training instils discipline which helps them keep away from things that could hurt them. Or in an emergency , following a command and not doing something – could potentially safe them from physical hurt
  3. Training gives them a mini “routine” to follow…this structure makes them instinctively comfortable
  4. Difficult to be a happy dog without a happy owner – the owners need to love their dogs. This can happen if they have a good time and there is lots of love. Training imparts discipline , which in turn makes the life as a pet parent or pet companion easier and makes their relationship better. A dog owner whose dog is always tugging him hard while going for a walk , is likely to take shorter walks…not good for either of them. But with training if the dog understands that it cant be running all over and tugging all the time , it would lead to longer , more fun walks…hence making both of them happier
  5. Training allows for more experiences together – A dog which constantly barks at everyone is less likely to be taken on a long drive or a local fair than the one which is well behaved and heeds to commands. Thus training opens up the possibilities of more experiences together.
